User level training: Motor Systems Optimization (MSO) 2025

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC), is pleased to announce the Call for Applications to participate in its User Training Programme on Motor Systems
Optimization (MSO)
.

Why should you consider the MSO training?

Nearly all electrical energy consumed by industry is used by the millions of electrical motors installed worldwide. Responsible for driving both core industrial processes as well as auxiliary systems such as compressed air generation, ventilation and water pumping, motors are critical to nearly every industry on the planet. In UNIDO’s experience, motor-system optimization can significantly reduce an individual plant’s energy consumption. Most motor optimization investments show payback times within three years.

What can you expect from the MSO training?

Since 2010, UNIDO has delivered its MSO training programme to industry and energy practitioners worldwide. Using expert insights and case studies, UNIDO’s MSO training details how industries can take advantage of the vast untapped potential for energy efficiency in electric motor-driven systems including fans, pumps and compressors. Designed for energy managers, operations staff, engineers, experts and vendors, this programme takes participants beyond the classroom into industry where they implement real-life MSO projects in partner enterprises.

Who will lead the course and when will it take place?

Through a series of in-person and online interactions over a 4-month period, participants will be guided through the course by international and national Motor Systems Experts Training will be delivered according to the following tentative schedule:

  • Group A: 26 and 27 May (30 participants)
  • Group B: 28 and 29 May (30 participants)
How much will it cost?

The training will be delivered free of charge to industries committed to implementing energy-efficient technologies and initiatives.

Who can apply?
We will accept 60 participants for the MSO user training programme. Participants will be selected under two categories:
  1. Individual category: individual applicants.
  2. Industries category: up to 2 applicants from each organization.

Applications for Industries
