MRV Framework for Industrial Sector GHG Emissions and Mitigation Actions in Sri Lanka

This report contains the final MRV Framework for the industry sector of Sri Lanka under the overall Accelerating Industries’ Climate Response in Sri Lanka project. It is structured in the following sections:

SECTION A: International transparency framework

This section reviews the reporting and accounting requirements under the Paris Agreement, and how it influences developing country Parties in needing to develop MRV systems to meet these requirements.

SECTION B: Context of the industry sector MRV Framework of Sri Lanka

This section defines the general stages of MRV processes and sets the objective, scope and different components of Sri Lanka ́s industry sector MRV Framework.

SECTION C: Institutional arrangements

This section provides a description of the key functions and associated roles and responsibilities within the Industry Sector MRV system in Sri Lanka.

SECTION D: MRV procedures

This section outlines the MRV cycle activities of Sri Lanka ́s industry sector MRV detailing the relevant procedures, as well as providing manuals and guidance to be followed for developing the national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and for mitigation.
